What is funny about gold is that until about 2 years ago I hated it! Everything was silver or white gold in my world. Now anything in gold is the first to catch my eye. A Week of Nautical: A Little Anchor Manicure

Here is my go at nautical nails... Depending on the angle your looking that white blob kinda looks like the anchor I set out to create. Ha! I used white nail polish and a toothpick to make the anchor, and then Julep "Rose" and Julep Fast Dry TopCoat. Which by the way, have you heard of Julep before? I'm a member of their Julep Mavin program and receive a little box at the beginning of each month with full size polishes and related products. This is the outfit, head to toe, I recently picked up at J.Crew that inspired this whole week. When I put it all together I visioned it being worn on a crisp, sunny, day while sailing near nantucket. While that won't be in my near future or probably ever with this outfit, it did get me in a nautical mood! {Oh and that is an anchor my hair is half covering.. wink}

This outfit is an ode to J.Crew. Love the bright poppy colored long shorts with the navy polka dots of the button down shirt. Add a sweater {in my case a fitted sweatshirt} and you have my version of the preppy look. Perfect for running around town or a casual dinner date!

Shopping Buddies

As mentioned yesterday I headed to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and took my partner in crime. I'm in trouble with this one, she loves to shop as much as her mama! After we shopped until we dropped, we headed to Panara for a cinnamon roll as big as her head... Then to a movie where she spilled more popcorn than we ate!

Do you journal? Loving paper, I am always buying new notebooks with the intention of actually journaling ... yet to date I have about 10 journals with a couple weeks each in them! Still I love the idea of journaling, and I do love reading the few entries I do write. I bought the one line a day about a year ago,  it's great because it takes the pressure off by only giving you a couple line to fill. Who doesn't have the time for a couple lines?!
